Try learning the history of Germany, there are thousands of little States you'd have to learn the names of all those dukes and barons etc. Like trying to learn all the heads of the English counties or the mayors of the towns now. I must get to them. Whenever I try to learn English history I get bogged down by the sheer length of time and all those Kings and Queens. I have read some fiction by Ackroyd and he is a great writer.
