"I can live without television, but not without books." Elke Heidenreich, German writer and cabaret artist
I would definitely claim books before television.
"If Liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear." George Orwell
Only those, who always think they are right, don't want to hear the opposite.
"There's no shortage of female role models. They're everywhere - in history, in literature, in the news. Just look around." Kerri Russel
For sure!!!

I couldn't live without books either!
ReplyDeleteI doubt we'll find someone in our blog bubble who would, Lark.
DeleteWe don't even have a television. We have a projector and screen to watch movies and that's it. It's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWell, compared to the television offer we had when we were little, that still is a television, Sarah. LOL
DeleteEh, I don't know. We only have access to what we own, so lots of repeats of favorites and some have not been watched in ages, lol.
DeleteWe have a Wii and used to have Netflix until the Wii stopped supporting it in 2016. Then we just had very basic channels, no cable or anything. Then slowly the tv started going out. For a while I could adjust color, contrast, etc for the picture to be clear but then one dat the screen went all white and that was that. I do not miss it at all!
I see, Sarah. Still, we have a TV but mainly watch our DVDs. Or sometimes sequels to series we like.
DeleteOur sons watch their movies on their PC.
So yes, in a way, that's not a TV but when we were little we had two stations and could only watch what they offered. Not a lot, I can tell you.
I very rarely watch television, but I am always reading!
ReplyDeleteSame here, Lindsi. As I just said, we have a TV but I always prefer a book. And I read a lot.
