Spell the Month in Books ~ May 2025

 Reviews from the Stacks

I found this on one of the blogs I follow, Books are the New Black who found it at One Book More. It was originally created by Reviews from the Stacks, and the idea is to spell the month using the first letter of book titles.

May: Freebie

May is a month where we may choose our topic. Sometimes, that's good, sometimes you think for ages what books you will choose. I decided to take girls' names this month

MAY
M
Ruiz Zafón, Carlos "Marina" (Spanish: Marina) - 1999
A
Brontë, Anne "Agnes Grey" - 1847
Y
Singer, Isaac Bashevis "Yentl, the Yeshiva Boy" (Yidd: נטל בחור ישיבה/Yenṭl der Yeshive-boḥer) - 1983

Happy Reading!

  1. May's such a short month, but with a Y in it it's not an easy one.

    1. I know, Lark. But since it was a Freebie, I checked what books I had with a Y and since Yentl is a girl's name, it was easy to find two others with M and A. ;)

    2. Smart! I wouldn't have thought to do that.

    1. Anon, I have no idea who you are, I guess you are one of the bloggers I constantly communicate with. I hope you have the story. Enjoy.

    1. Thanks, Emma. I always try to stick to the topic or to one if we have a freebie. Doesn't always work out like this one.

  4. I love the books I have read by Carlos Ruiz Zafon but I don't think I have heard of Marina before!

Those Y letters are tricky aren't they!

    1. Thanks, Marg. It's a shorter story than his "adult" books, this is a young adult one. But just as great as the other ones.
And tell me about it. And we need four of them throughout the year!!! Yikes!
