"Top Ten Tuesday" is an original feature/weekly meme created on the blog "The Broke and the Bookish". It was created because they are particularly fond of lists. It is now hosted by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl.
Since I am just as fond of them as they are, I jump at the chance to share my lists with them! Have a look at their page, there are lots of other bloggers who share their lists here.
This week's topic is May Flowers.
I found quite a few books about tulips which shows, how long I lived in the Netherlands. And two with the name of my favourite flower, peonies, the rest of the stories feature gardens.

Lovely, thanks for sharing your #TTT
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shelleyrae. I did enjoy this one.
DeleteI've been looking at that tulip mania one! I went with quotes about flowers.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great story, Stephen. If you have a look at my link, you will see that this was extraordinary.
DeleteLovely selection of books! I did this topic last month. Here's a link to the books I chose with flowers in the title. https://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2026/04/top-ten-tuesday-books-with-specific.html
ReplyDeleteAh, interesting, Lisa. I suppose it was for the freebie?
DeleteWhat is it about peonies that makes them your favourite? :)
ReplyDeleteGood question, Lydia. I have always loved them. They are so nice and round and some of them have a beautiful smell. When we moved here, my brothers gave me a rose that looks like a peony. The advantage? They flower for so much longer than the peony and they also smell beautifully. I'll have to post a picture of them ...
DeleteMy second favourite flower is the hydrangea which also flowers so much longer.
A great collection of covers!
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/even-more-may-flowers-book-covers-with-flowers/
Thanks, Pam, yes, very different ones. You would think they all just use the picture of a flower.
DeleteI love tulips and have read some of the books, but there are many more to dive into. Peonies are also a favourit of mine. When I was in school I used to bring read peonies and white lilacs for the exam day. A great memory that I still cherish.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice tradition, Lisbeth. We always had peonies in our garden at home. Both when I still lived with my parents and in all the houses we lived in over the time. They are just so beautiful.
DeleteI love tulips, too! I bought a bouquet of purple tulips for my mother-in-law this year for Mother's Day and she LOVED them. They're so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Thursday)!
Well, who wouldn't love tulips, Susan? And I can imagine that your MIL loved the tulips. Just the way you thought about her will have given her pleasure, I'm sure.
DeleteI am not big on flowers and inherited none of the love of gardening that my grandma and mom have loved, but Eleanor has been checking out seed packets from the library and we have flower pots all over our deck now, with all kinds of veggies and herbs and flowers. I'm glad she has an interest, and she's adding more next weekend. Pretty soon we won't even be able to sit out there because of all the seeds she's nurturing.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you, Sarah. My parents always grew everything our large family needed and we had to help a lot in the garden when we were little. Made me hate it. My sons have done a lot with my hubby when they were little, but only as much as they wanted, so they both have plants in their apartments and start growing stuff on the balcony now that they both have one.
DeleteWhat you need for Eleanor is a raised-bed for her gardening.
