"Top Ten Tuesday" is an original feature/weekly meme created on the blog "The Broke and the Bookish". It was created because they are particularly fond of lists. It is now hosted by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl.
Since I am just as fond of them as they are, I jump at the chance to share my lists with them! Have a look at their page, there are lots of other bloggers who share their lists here. This week's topic is Book Series
I have read a lot of series, tetralogies, trilogies (see links), or at least the first one(s) of them. So, it wasn't all that easy to find only ten but I managed in the end. I liked all these book series and have read most of them completely. I have always put the picture of the first one of the series here but listed all the books I read in that series.

📚 Happy Reading 📚
I have read several of the Alison Weir books. But the Love Season caught my eye on your list.

Hmmm, Love Season, Rosie? Do you mean the Olive Season? That is really nice, not novels, the real life of an actress who retires to an olive farm.
DeleteThanks for leaving your link.
I've enjoyed all of the Alison Weir I've read, her fiction included.
ReplyDeleteSame here, Stephen. I know she doesn't always keep with the facts but if we know that, it's a very enjoyable read.
DeleteOh, I totally forgot another of Ken Follett's series that I loved! I still haven't read The Pillars of the Earth series but I'm looking forward to tackling it one day. I also need to continue Zafón's series but I loved Shadow of the Wind immensely. Great list!
ReplyDeleteOh, you will enjoy all of them a lot, Dini. Have you read the century trilogy?
DeleteI’m planning to start another reread of the Little House books this winter!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a good idea, Lydia. I should plan that.
DeleteI loved the Little House series though I haven't read it in years. Follett's series intimidates me because of the length, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. So much so that I just purchased it recently. Hoping to get to it soon :)
ReplyDeleteSame here, Lillian. I read the Little House series when I first moved to England and wanted to read something a little more challenging than my children's books. ;)
DeleteI know, the Follett series are both a long series as well as long books. But it definitely is worth it.
I have the first two books of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series on my bookshelf, but I haven't had the chance to start the series.

I did like the first ones, Pam. It gets a little repetitive later on and one person in particular got annoying but the first dozen is certainly a nice read. And quite a light read, as well, so you get through them quickly. Thanks for your link.
DeleteI have read some of the Little House on the Prairie books, but I don't remember which ones.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't matter, Cindy. They are all great. My favourites were The Long Winter and Farmer boy.
DeleteSome interesting looking reads on this list. I'm particularly interested in the Peter Ackroyd ones.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Adele. The books are a great review of England's history. I have also included the next two that I haven't read, yet.
DeleteI love the Laura Ingalls Wilder series and have read it many times. They've been favorites since I learned to read. And I also really love that Carlos Ruiz Zafon series. Shadow of the Wind is another favorite of mine. Fun list! :D
ReplyDeleteI could say they've been favourites since I read English books, Lark. Great that you found some series you also enjoyed. I'm sure you would also like some of the others.
DeleteWhat a brilliant and diverse list! I love the mix of classics like the **Little House** books, historical epics like the Ken Follett series, and the beautiful atmosphere of Carlos Ruiz Zafón's work. I totally agree with your choices for satisfying series! Happy reading! 📚 Teresa @ https://mybookishworld.weebly.com
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks, Teresa. I love reading all sorts of different genres and am happy you liked my choices. And thanks for the link to your page.
DeleteAdmittedly, I've not read the Laura Ingalls Wilder series.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't, Lisa, before I moved to England and wanted to read more difficult books than a first grader. It was probably not the best choice to start with a classic American book but I loved it.
