"Top Ten Tuesday" is an original feature/weekly meme created on the blog "The Broke and the Bookish". It was created because they are particularly fond of lists. It is now hosted by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl.
Since I am just as fond of them as they are, I jump at the chance to share my lists with them! Have a look at their page, there are lots of other bloggers who share their lists here.
This week's topic is Books Set in Another Time (These can be historical, futuristic, alternate universes, or even in a world where you’re not sure when it takes place you just know it’s not right now.)
This is a tough one. I love historical fiction but I have also read quite a few dystopian books that take place in another world. I don't want to repeat the same titles over and over, therefore I have chosen the last ten historical fiction novels I read. I have added the approximate times of the stories.

I haven't read any of these, but there are a few I have written down to see if I will like them, thank you for sharing
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting, Teri. There are certainly some that I highly recommend. I loved them all but we all have different tastes. Which were the ones you were looking at?
DeleteNice selection of books for this week's TTT list! I haven't read any of them, but several look really good to me. :D
ReplyDeleteI am sure there are quite a few you would like, Lark. Let me know if you choose some of them. Would be interesting.
DeleteThe Armour of Light looks like a good read. I haven’t read Follett in years, but I did like what I read from him.
ReplyDeleteIf you read anything from the Kingsbridge series, Lydia, this is a follow-up from the Industrial Revolution. But you can read them all in no matter which sequence. There are always about two hundred years between them.
DeleteI haven't read/heard of any of these.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://laurieisreading.com/2025/02/25/top-ten-tuesday-books-set-in-another-time/
Thanks for leaving your link, Laurie. I'm looking forward to see which times you have been writing about.
DeleteI haven't read any of these. Today I focused on historical fiction I own that I need to read. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLooks like nobody read any of my books this week, Cindy. But they are all wonderful, I can highly recommend them.
DeleteA diverse list of titles.

Thanks, Pam. They reflect my type of reading. Thanks for your link.
DeleteHistorical fiction is one of my favorite genres as well. I haven't read any of the books on your list, although I've read different novels by Alvarez, Brooks, and Chevalier.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
I absolutely love historical fiction, Susan. You can learn so much from them, especially if you also read the background of the times.
DeleteThe three authors you mentioned are all fantastic. Well, all of the books I listed are great.
The Island of Missing Trees is on my TBR list. I hope it's good!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved it, AJ, but then I like anything by Elif Şafak. Enjoy.
DeleteI’m always looking for new histfic titles! Thanks for the recs! 🙌
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning your name, Carol. The blogsites don't always cooperate, I've had that problem myself often.
DeleteAs you know, I love historical novels, so there are always some to be found on my page, I'm glad you like that.
P.s. Above anonymous is me Carol @ ReadingLadies
ReplyDeleteI haven't read that book by Follett but I do love his Century Trilogy! That was my first taste of his writing and I became completely hooked. I have Elif Shafak's book on my TBR and I actually haven't heard many things about it but I'm excited to give it a try. Great list!
ReplyDeleteIf you liked the Century Trilogy, you will also like the Kingsbridge series. It's just about England and its development through the ages but it's fantastic. As I said to Lydia ^^, you can read them all in no matter which sequence. There are always about two hundred years between them.
DeleteAs to Elif Şafak, I have read several books by her and liked them all but this is probably my favourite.
Enjoy all of the books you mentioned.
Lovely list, though I have only read Midaq Alley
ReplyDeleteThey are all great books, Emma. I think you would love some of the others just as much as I did.
