Spell the Month in Books ~ December

Reviews from the Stacks

I found this on one of the blogs I follow, Books are the New Black who found it at One Book More. It was originally created by Reviews from the Stacks, and the idea is to spell the month using the first letter of book titles

December: Christmas or Non-fiction

I don't have many books that are about Christmas. I might find a few but then they also have to fit the letters. So, I went with the easier option (for me): Non-fiction.

  1. The only one of these I've read is Educated. But I'm intrigued by The Expedition. And, of course, The Remainders of the Day. :D

    1. Oh, that was really exciting, Lark. But I think you would also love "Mercy and Grace", a book about the Camino de Santiago, travelled by some friends.

  2. Educated was phenomenal. Curious about Eastern Horizons.

    1. It was recommended to me by a German friend who has settled in Australia after travelling the world herself. It really is a good one, Sarah. Enjoy.

    2. Our library system doesn't have it, such a bummer! I'll try the inter-library loan and see if I can get it that way. For the shipping fee, we can request books from any library in the country.

    3. I had to get a used copy, Sarah, because it is out of print. I hope you will get it with the inter-library loan. I wish my library had this, my old one did. Good luck.

    1. Well, Emma, that's more than most. LOL But it definitely is a good one. And I like finding other titles on lists, my TBR pile is growing and growing. LOL

  4. Great choices. I have read three of them. The Expedition is a great story.

    1. I don't always choose my favourite books for this, Lisbeth, they have to fit the challenge somehow. But I also loved The Expedition.

  5. Lovely. But I can never seem to use the theme, I just use books I've reviewed.

    1. Thanks, Davida. I wouldn't say we have to use the theme. I find it easier not to repeat myself, even though that has happened, as well. LOL
