I found this on one of the blogs I follow, Books are the New Black who found it at One Book More. It was originally created by Reviews from the Stacks, and the idea is to spell the month using the first letter of book titles.
April: Animals
Science Fiction is not my genre and I was wondering whether I would be able to fill even five letters. But, as you can see, I managed. Some are more dystopian than science which (which I really prefer) but I even managed to find five books that I like that fit the subject.

Happy Reading!

I have seen the first as a movie, but not read it. Liked the movie though. I have read The Road, excellent. Have you read Cloud Atlas? I hear so much about it.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting, Lisbeth. I wonder whether I would like the movie after having read the book. Always a tough decision to make.
DeleteYes, I have read them all. I usually use books I have read unless they ask specifically for books I want to read or something like that.
The books were all very good. Cloud Atlas is probably the most confusing. They turned it into a film and I am curious how they have done that because I have no idea. But, as I said above, always tough to decide whether you really want to spoil your experience.
I'm not surprised, Lark, they are the best known. I've seen Hitch Hiker on a few other lists. Mind you, they are all very good, even though I am not a huge fan of that genre.
ReplyDeleteI did WELL on this one! I've read 'The Martian', 'The Road' and 'Hitchhikers' and I've got 'Anathem' and 'Cloud Atlas'...!!
ReplyDeleteWow, you really did well with it, Kitten. But I'm not surprised, they are all pretty well known since I don't read many of that genre.
DeleteEnjoy both those you haven't read, yet, I'm sure you'll love them.
Great list!I haven't read A and C.
ReplyDeleteI do want to read more by Stephenson.

Oh wow, I think you are the only other one here who read Cloud Atlas. But we do have a lot of books in common, so I'm not too surprised. Thanks, Emma, for leaving your link.
DeleteOops, I actually wrote that I haven't read A and C!
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy his previous book, but didn't feel like investing so much time on this one.
Now I'm down my pedestal, lol
Yes, you did. Sorry, I misread. Sometimes I'm not entirely there, I think.
DeleteAnyway, which author did your read? Andry Weir or David Mitchell?
I loved Cloud Atlas. Here's my list:

Thanks, Lisa. I'm looking forward to it.
DeleteFrom what I understand, Cloud Atlas is constructed somewhat similar to Doerr's book. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteInteresting, Anon. I have not read that one by Doerr but I really loved "All the Light We Cannot See".
