16 years of blogging

16th Blogiversary

On Tuesday, Tuesday, 5 October 2010, I started this blog.

In the meantime, I have had 6572575 views, 87 followers, 3089 posts and 16400 comments.

My very first post was about my favourite author, Jane Austen, of course: Which Austen Heroine are You? At the time, I thought I might be Anne Elliot but it turned out I was Elinor Dashwood which I am convinced now is the more correct choice.

My lastest post from Saturday, Six Degrees of Separation ~ Life of M, has had 38 views so far.

And because not all of my reader friends speak English, I started a second blog on 30 October 2012: Mariannes Bücherecke/Der Bücherwurm (Marianne's Book Corner/The Book Worm). And though I didn't start all blogging all my books there immediately, I have had 1473 posts in the meantime and 353865 views.

I have always enjoyed sharing the books I read with fellow readers and I hope to do so for a long, long time.

Thank you to everyone who shares this passion with me and who contributes to my blog.

  2. Happy blogoversary! I don't know about you but when I started my first blog I didn't imagine I would still be writing, or starting a different blog. It's a great way to chat about books and meet like minded folks.

    1. Thank you, Tina. Same as you, I didn't think this would become a lifelong obsession. ;)
I was living in an international environment where many members only stayed a few years. I sent them an e-mail the latest books I read. Then one of the leaving members suggested I start this blog, so everyone can have just a quick look whenever they like and not have to look up the e-mail I sent about a certain book. So, that was the beginning.

    2. That's similar to how I started. It was a blog about family research and I had two cousins who were interested in our lineage so I could post and they could look, tell me if they had something to add. It was easier than email.

Then I realized I liked blogging and started one for food and books.

    3. Yes, you are a great blogger, Tina, you cover so many different topics. For me, it's just books, I'm afraid though I thoroughly enjoy that.

    1. And I do yours, Sarah. I have met a few bloggers in real life and they were all just as nice as their blogs, so I am sure we would get on spledidly.
