Happy August!

Happy August to all my friends and readers

New Calendar picture with this
beautiful watercolour painting by Frank Koebsch

"Boats in the Harbour of Gager"
"Boote im Hafen von Gager"

August used to be Sextilis in Latin, the sixth month of the year, but the Romans added two months and named this one after Emperor Augustus.
We don't have a holiday in Germany or the Netherlands in this month, but the Belgians celebrate Mary's Assumption on 15 August.

Enjoy this month with the beautiful watercolour painting
by Frank Koebsch.
I think it is inviting us to spend a day at the seaside.

  1. Like the painting, a favorite subject of mine and I've painted more than a few boat paintings.

    1. Oh, you have? How lovely. I love boat scenes, I love the ocean, just so beautiful. Well done, Janet.

    1. Same here, Judy, both my boys were born in August and so is my mother and my nephew. Mum was always proud that all her three grandsons were born in "her" month.

Well, my birthday won't be until next month but I wish you a very happy one in advance (or am I already too late?)

      Happy August!

    2. You are not too late. It is on the 18th. I used to have a birth day, then I had birthday week, now I like to have birthday month!
