Harris, Joanne "Five Quarters of the Orange" - 2001
I loved this book. It book has a lot of issues, history, recipes, family tragedy,
mother-daughter relationship, description of small village life, even
though in France, I think this applies to anywhere in the world.
We discussed this in our international book club in February 2003.
Read my original review here.
I love Joanne Harris' books, this one as well. She has such good stories that go to your heart.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great way to describe her, Lisbeth. Thanks.
DeleteI love Joanne Harris's books...and this one is definitely a good one, though it isn't my favorite. I liked Gentleman & Players and Blackberry Wine a little bit better. Oh, and Coastliners! :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Gentleman & Players, Lark. But yes, I think I prefer Blackberry Wine to this one, as well. And Coastliners is my favourite of those I read so far. This just came up next. I go in chronological order of my posts, unless I disliked a book.
DeleteI've enjoyed several books by Harris as well, including this one. I need to read her others still. COASTLINERS is one I haven't gotten to yet.
ReplyDeleteYou will love it, Susan. I've heard from several that it's their favourite.
