It is a space ship that will take you to the farthest reaches of the Universe, a time machine that will take you to the far past and the far future, a teacher that knows more than any human being, a friend that will amuse you and console you - and most of all, a gateway, to a better and happier and more useful life." Isaac Asimov

"Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again." C.S. Lewis

"There's more to life than books, you know. But not much more." Morrissey

  1. I just visited your Goodreads page and saw that you and I have the same birthday September 28.
Saw that you're reading Octavia Butler's book Kindred. I love her books, have read them all and was devastated to find she had died so young.
    Happy reading.

    1. Ooooh, that is lovely. It is the best birthday date ever, don't you think? ;)

Anyway, yes, I have a friend who runs a book club on Facebook and this was the book for this month. I had never read anything by her and I am not a fan of time travel and that sort of stuff (as you surely know by now, LOL). But I did like the part of the past. Are her other books more like that?

      Have a great reading week,
      Marianne
