Top Ten Tuesday ~ Top Ten Book Titles that Would Make Great Song Titles

"Top Ten Tuesday" is an original feature/weekly meme created on the blog "The Broke and the Bookish". This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at "The Broke and the Bookish".

It is now hosted by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl.

Since I am just as fond of them as they are, I jump at the chance to share my lists with them! Have a look at their page, there are lots of other bloggers who share their lists here.

Book Titles that Would Make Great Song Titles

I'm a singer-songwriter type of girl. Always have been, always will. Think Carole King, Leonard Cohen, Neil Diamond, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, etc. But I guess if you know the kind of books I like to read, you're not surprised. I could have found hundreds of books but had to stop after I had ten.

I try to imagine the kind of songs these would make. Maybe one day, someone takes up this idea and writes songs about our favourites books. Wouldn't that be nice?

Don't you feel that some of those pictures would also be great for the record cover?

Byatt, A.S. "Possession" - 1990

    1. True. I can just imagine that song. In my ear, I now have Neil Diamond's song "Summer Love".

I have read another book by Michael Chabon, The Yiddish Policemen’s Union, also a great novel.

Thanks for your visit. Will reciprocate. Have a great day.

  2. I completely blanked on this topic! I'm glad you enjoyed it :) And, I agree, some of those book covers totally look like album covers.

    Happy TTT!

  3. Ah I love the Spanish title for Shadow In The Wind, La Sombra Del Viento has a beautifully eerie vibe to it.

    1. Doesn't it just? It's the language, of course. All romance languages sound so romantic. Imagine Enrique Iglesias singing a song with that title. Mmmmmh.

Thanks for your visit and your link, see you there.

  4. Nowhere in Africa reminds me of Toto's Africa.

    1. Oooooh, yes. So true. My son's favourite song ever. "I bless the rains down in Africa". Fantastic.

Thanks for your visit. And thanks even more for the wonderful subject. I hear it was your idea.

    1. It's a brilliant book and a great title. Just the title can make you reminisce about the meaning of life and everything.

Thanks for visiting and leaving your list. I'll come to your page soon.

  6. These are some wonderful choices, and I could easily see how some of the musicians you listed could produce works with titles like these. I'm particularly partial to Nightwoods as a title—how evocative!

    1. Thanks for that, Christopher. Yes, I would love to listen to a song called "Nightwoods". It's also a gerat book, by the way, as anything by Charles Frazier. I wonder which one of "my" musicians would want to pick it up.

      Happy Sunday.

  7. The Rose of Sarajevo sounds like an old, sad ballad. Great choices!

    1. Thanks, Jen. Yes, sad ballad hits the sentiment exactly. It was a great book to read, as well.
