Book Quotes of the Week

"For whatever the power of truth may be, literature's own special power has always lain in fiction, that wonder we construct. It is the invention that unbreaks the heart." Angus Fletcher

We can imagine things better when it's fiction, I guess. For example, I love historical novels where fictional characters show what the "little man" went through during good or bad times. They tell us so much more than just the history books.

"A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination." Nelson Mandela

And he certainly had both.

"This book has been used but its words are still good". N.N.

They often are even better - pre-loved.

  1. Awesome choices this week! The one about the book being used but the words still being good made me smile. :)

    1. Same here, Lark, I think that is my favourite this week. I by many used books, no need to kill another tree because I love reading and am no fan of ebooks. And I pass those on that I won't read again and lend out the ones I want to keep so that every book has a good life. LOL

      Have a good weekend.
