#ThrowbackThursday. A Voyage for Madmen

Nichols, Peter "A Voyage for Madmen" - 2002

The title of this book is fantastic. The guys who undertook this journey really were mad, and if it didn't show before, it surely did afterwards. It's amazing what people are willing to sacrifice for their five minutes of fame.

Great book.

  1. A very telling title. One wonders sometimes, if people really have to do extremes to prove something to others or themselves.

    1. Definitely the best description you can have for this story. It was very interesting, though. And yes, we don't have to understand them, I doubt they understand it themselves.

  2. Those around-the-world sailing races are so crazy! But also very fun to read about. :D

  4. I just found out about the one from CK, thanks to his birthday trip to the bookstore and now as I am scrolling up through other comments left I see he has left a message as well. I will be reading it at some point!

    1. Thanks, Sarah. As I explain in my post, I am not a huge sports fan and would never attempt anything like that or hail the hero of such an adventure but the book is really interesting. We quite enjoyed talking about it in the book club.
