Rhue, Morton "The Wave" - 1981
The teacher Ben Ross started an experience. He found a great way to teach everyone why you can be drawn into
evil and why we should never forget how this can happen but also not
point fingers because we never know what we might have done.
The book is based on a
true life story which happened in a high school in Palo Alto, Californa.

Hmm, intriguing, on my way to your review
ReplyDeleteThanks, Emma.
DeleteI have always liked the book (and the movie). It is such a wonderful eye-opener for people who simply don't understand how people could fall into the trap of following Hitler. It helps the reader to understand that nobody is immune from joining "The Wave."
ReplyDeleteWould you believe I never watched the movie, Eva? I must have been too scared that it would spoil such a good book.
DeleteBut yes, everyone should read this book in order to understand why people follow "The Wave", any wave.
The movie is also good. I think I watched it in Canada a long time ago. Maybe it is on YouTube?
DeleteIt might be somewhere, I really should watch it, you're right, Eva.
DeleteGood luck in finding it!
DeleteThanks.
DeleteI have heard of this one but not yet read it. Going to check now to see if our library has it!
ReplyDeleteThat would be fantastic, Sarah. I know you will like it.
