I found this on one of the blogs I follow, Books are the New Black who found it at One Book More. It was originally created by Reviews from the Stacks, and the idea is to spell the month using the first letter of book titles.
I suppose Jana thought about Valentine's Day when choosing the topic for this month:
February: Red or Pink Covers
I often have problems sticking to the given topic but this month it was no problem at all. There are so many read books around, I could even choose my favourites.
FEBRUARY
F
Follett, Ken "Fall of Giants" - 2010
E
Buck, Pearl S. "The Exile" - 1936
B
Harris, Joanne "Blackberry Wine" - 2000
R
Rutherfurd, Edward "Russka. The Novel of Russia" - 1991
U
Whitehead, Colson "Underground Railroad" - 2016

Y

Fun that you were able to find so many red covers! And you know how much I love John Atkinson's Abridged Classics. Blackberry Wine is a great one, too. :D
ReplyDeleteI do, Lark. And I was happy that I could include it.
DeleteI knew right away that I would find more red than pink covers, I'm sure I would have struggled with pink since I try to keep away from the books with those covers. LOL
Wow, your covers are awesome! I had a harder time finding ones that were completely red. Here is my link: https://reviewsfromthestacks.wordpress.com/2023/02/04/spell-the-month-in-books-february-2023-linkup/
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy. I was surprised to find that many totally in red. Though, I already mentioned to Lark ^^ that I was sure I wouldn't find many pink ones.
DeleteI LOVED the guide to not getting murdered. Such a fun little volume. The reviews on Goodreads concern me, like people didn't "get" it...wanted to facepalm after reading a lot of them!
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I try to avoid those comments, Sarah. They are often not as bad on Goodreads as on the social network sites but still, some people ...
DeleteI thought surely some of them had to be joking, but they were dead serious. I don't usually look at reviews until after I read a book, if I look at all. And it is usually after I have written my review as well.
DeleteSame here, Sarah, I want to convey my own impressions. But these people don't seem to understand that this is supposed to be satirical. Too bad, they miss out on some great humour.
DeleteAwesome covers, I like the red. Good mixture of themes.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisbeth. Yes, it's surprising how many different kinds of topics like red for their cover.
DeleteAn excellent assortment - letters like Y are often a problem but you made it seem effortless!
ReplyDeleteWell, Constance, it's only the second month with a Y in it, we still have May and July to follow. And I'll probably re-use all those Y books in the next couple of years. LOL
