Top Ten Tuesday ~ Top Ten Books on My Fall 2021 To-read List

"Top Ten Tuesday" is an original feature/weekly meme created on the blog "The Broke and the Bookish". This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at "The Broke and the Bookish". It is now hosted by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl.

Since I am just as fond of them as they are, I jump at the chance to share my lists with them! Have a look at their page, there are lots of other bloggers who share their lists here.

This week's topic is: Books on My Fall 2021 To-read List

I still have two books from my Books On My Spring 2021 TBR list but that doesn't mean I don't have more that I want to read before the end of the year. I joined quite a few challenges this year and therefore have no problem filling in this list.

So, here is a collection of books, fiction (A Column of Fire, Del Boy, Dracula, The Incredible Journey, Much Ado About Nothing, The Satanic Verses, The World of Jeeves), non-fiction (Der Geist fiel nicht vom Himmel, Narcissus and Goldmund, The Silk Roads), English (A Column of Fire, Del Boy, Dracula, The Incredible Journey, Much Ado About Nothing, The Satanic Verses, The Silk Roads, The World of Jeeves), German (Der Geist fiel nicht vom Himmel, Narcissus and Goldmund), funny (Del Boy, The World of Jeeves), serious (The Incredible Journey, Narcissus and Goldmund, The Satanic Verses, The Silk Roads), classic (Dracula, Der Geist fiel nicht vom Himmel, The Incredible Journey, Much Ado About Nothing, Narcissus and Goldmund, The World of Jeeves), modern (A Column of Fire, Del Boy, The Satanic Verses, The Silk Road), short stories (The World of Jeeves) and a play (Much Ado About Nothing), a selection of all sorts of books I like to read.

Ditfurth, Hoimar von "Der Geist fiel nicht vom Himmel: Die Evolution unseres Bewußtseins" [The mind did not fall from the sky: the evolution of our consciousness] - 1976
Follett, Ken "A Column of Fire" (Das Fundament der Ewigkeit) - 2017
Frankopan, Peter "The Silk Roads. A New History of the World" (Licht aus dem Osten: Eine neue Geschichte der Welt) - 2015

Hesse, Hermann "Narcissus and Goldmund" (Narziss und Goldmund) - 1930

Martin, Catherine "The Incredible Journey" - 1923

Rushdie, Salman "The Satanic Verses" - 1988 (Buddy Read/
Buddy Read)
Shakespeare, William "Much Ado About Nothing" - 1598/99

Stoker, Bram "Dracula" - 1897

Trotter, Derek "Del Boy" (Family of John Sullivan) "He Who Dares" - 2015

Wodehouse, P.G. "The World of Jeeves" (Jeeves #2-4: The Inimitable Jeeves #2, Carry On, Jeeves #3, Very Good, Jeeves! #4) - 1923/1925/1930

And what's on your TBR list for the next season?

    1. Thanks, Davida. Yes, Jeeves and Wooster are just fantastic. I only started reading them about a year and a half ago and this is already my fourth book, although I probably said my fourth, fifth and sixth. LOL

    1. So do I, Astilbe. I wanted to read it for ages and then one of my blog friends suggested it as a buddy read, so I'm really looking forward to it.

  3. Jeeves is probably the world's best antidote! And as for Satanic Verses, I hear there's a readalong in November, in which case I might join you. :)

    1. Thanks, Dini. There might be a reason why I have them on my list now since most of them belong to some sort of challenge. So, I'm looking forward to reading them, hope to finish them by the end of the year, and if not, well, there is always next year ...

    1. I always try to read diverse books, Emma. Often, I read about six books at the same time and I try for them not to be from the same country, the same era, the same genre, so I get a diverse read in any case.

Looking forward to that calendar for the buddy read. I've never done this before, so I'm quite excited about it.

    1. Looks like most people enjoyed Dracula, Poinsettia, so I really look forward to it now. I wanted to read it for one of my challenge lists but I don't read that genre very often.

  15. Interesting list. Dracula is a great book. I was doubtful about this book and the theme, but loved it. Follett is always a good read. I have had Rushdie book on my shelves for many years, but not yet read it. Maybe time now?

Maybe you will be picking up The Satanic Verses when we read it as a buddy read in November?
