Light stories, easy reads but quite amusing, not the usual "easy reads" with nothing memorable in it. The little detective stories are nice but not too gruesome and there is a lot of information about Botswana in it.

We discussed this in our international book club in November 2004 and June 2008 (different members).

  1. This is another series I always meant to try because of the fun setting, but for some reason just never have. You know how it goes. :)

    1. Oh, I definitely do, Lark. I just stumbled upon the first and then carried on. I haven't read the last ones, though, too many other books on my TBR pile.

  2. I have read a couple of his books about the Ladies... and loved them. I also seem to remember to have read a book which takes place in Scotland(?) which I did not like that much.

    1. Thanks, Lisbeth. They are definitely worth reading, especially the first dozen or so, later they get a tad repetitive and some of the characters get annoying.

The Scotland books are the "44 Scotland Street" series. I didn't like them as much, either, the annoying people started in the beginning, especially that helicopter mother with her "gifted" son.
