My Year in Books

I am still doing my usual statistics but this is what Goodreads tells me. You can find links to all my books on Goodreads here or on my page under My Reading List

  1. It's always fun to see what people read last year. :D

    1. Thanks, Lark. I think so, as well. And you can see who reads similar books to yourself and find even more for next year to put on your TBR. LOL

  2. I am still so heartbroken about Matthew Perry. Such a painfully honest memoir. I started watching friends the year it premiered when I was 11. I got the boxed set of the entire series as soon as it was available when the show ended. Every night until Eleanor was born I have fallen asleep to the show, I can quote entire episodes word for word. Chandler Bing has been my person for 30 years and now I can hardly bear to watch, though I have tried.

    1. Same here, Sarah. I wrote about him in my November post.
You would fit well into our family. We have whole conversations with FRIENDS quotes. It's always fun when you find others who know exactly what is going on.
I have not been able to watch a show since he died, though I know I will want to at some point. I see snippets on Instagram where I follow an account with them.
I am glad I read the book before he died, I don't know whether I would get through it at the moment.
One thing is for sure. He made so many people laugh, he made so many people happy, he will live on in our memories forever.

    2. Same. There's no way I could read it now. I still cry when certain clips on TikTok catch me. I still can't believe it's true. I am so glad that his sober house will still have funding and that he can still continue to help people. My heart hurts.

    3. He was a great person indeed who - despite having enough problems of his own - always thought of others first. A big loss to all of us.

  3. Impressive! Do you take notes while you are reading?

    1. Thanks, Eva. Sometimes while I read but mostly just after I finish a book.

    2. I think without taking some kind of notes, you might forget what some books were about :).

    3. Oh, definitely, you are right there, Eva. I try not to put in any spoilers, so don't have to retain all the deatils but still. However, I usually write a review within a week of finishing a book, even if I don't post it right aways.

    4. Ah, that is a good habit :).

    5. I couldn't do it otherwise, Eva.

  4. Great statistics. Rutherford's books are always very long. I have just finished a book of 813 pages and it took me forever to read. I sometime thinks authors could easily tell the story in fewer pages. But, if it is a good book that you can not put down, it is nice with a long one. You also seem to have read a variety of genres, some on my list to read. Good luck with your 2024 read.

    1. Thanks, Lisbeth,

Yes, they are. One of the reasons I love Rutherfurd. He is the best history novel writer. And I love all the details. Yes, maybe they could be shorter but I think they'd lose too much.

I am sad that I read his last one, so far. I hope he is writing a new one, I have the idea it might be Egypt. No matter what, I am going to read it.

I love reading different genres. I'm not a fan of sci-fi or fantasy but I think I cover a lot of areas.

Thanks for your visit and your comments.
