#ThrowbackThursday. The Adolescent

Dostoevsky, Fyodor "The Adolescent" (or: The Raw Youth - Russian: Подросток = Podrostok) - 1875

I love classics. Especially Russian authors. This novel describes the simple life in Russia about 150 years ago and you can imagine how the revolution started and why some things in history happened the way it did.

Read more on my original post here.

I also read more books by this great author since, see here.

  1. I've just started reading a few Russian novels in the past few years, including Anna Karenina and War and Peace and a little Chekhov. I'm glad to hear that you like the Russian authors so much.

    1. Those are lovely novels, Deb. I'm afraid to say I haven't read much of Chekhov, I'll really have to change that. "The Cherry Orchard" is supposed to be just great.

Thanks for following my blog, Deb. I have always enjoyed yours and am happy that you feel likewise.

    1. It's not one of his most famous ones but one of our international book club members had a Russian mother and suggested this for a read because it isn't such a tome. We all enjoyed it. And I believe you will, as well.

  3. I have never heard about this book by Dostoyevsky. Sounds interesting. I have Russian authors as my monthly theme for October. For sure Dostoyevsky will be among the books to read.

    1. Oh, you couldn't leave him out, Lisbeth. I have only read a few of his books but they were all great. None of us had heard of the book but this was an "insider tip". LOL
