Nadolny, Sten "The Discovery of Slowness" (German: Die Entdeckung der Langsamkeit) - 1983
Interesting tale based on the successful arctic explorer, Sir John Franklin, his life and discoveries but also a great description how something
that is usually conceived as negative, in this case a "slowness" that is
regarded as "mental retardation" can be used for the good of something.

ReplyDeleteI think this is the book for you, Emma.
DeleteOh, I read that in 1993 while on a plane to St. Louis, Missouri :). I did not finish it, but finished it later. It was not an exciting book, but a thoughtful one, and I liked it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you did, Eva. I loved the thoughtfulness.
DeleteIt is a good book for our modern hectic times.
DeleteWell said, Eva.
