"Top Ten Tuesday" is an original feature/weekly meme created on the blog "The Broke and the Bookish". This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at "The Broke and the Bookish".
It is now hosted by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl.
Since I am just as fond of them as they are, I jump at the chance to
share my lists with them! Have a look at their page, there are lots of
other bloggers who share their lists here.
Last year, Lindsey @ Lindsey Reads had the idea to post songs with a creepy subject. I thought that was a great idea and am now ready to copy that. Thank you, Lindsey.
So, here is my Halloween Playlist. I had to make it a little more spooky and therefore chose thirteen. ππ»πΌ
π» AC/DC "Highway to Hell" (Youtube)
πΌ Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear the Reaper" (Youtube)
π» Creedence Clearwater Revival "I Put A Spell On You" (Youtube)
πΌ David Bowie "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps" (Youtube)
π» Donovan "Season of the Witch" (Youtube)
πΌ Duran Duran "Hungry Like the Wolf (Youtube)
π» Fleetwood Mac "Black Magic Woman" (Youtube)
πΌ Michael Jackson "Thriller" (Youtube)
π» Lady Gaga "Monster" (Youtube)
πΌ Men at Work "Who Can It Be Now?" (Youtube)
π» Ray Parker Jr. "Ghostbusters" (Youtube)
πΌ Rockwell "Somebody's Watching Me!" (Youtube)
π» Andrew Lloyd Webber "The Phantom of the Opera" (Youtube)
Thank you, Good Housekeeping for some of the ideas.
Ooh, I absolutely love this take on the freebie! I'm going to have to take note of this topic for future freebies in case I can't come up with something else π Great list!
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I did, Dini. Lindsey did this last year and I copied the idea from her. Exactly the right idea for us non-Americans.
DeleteAnne of My Head is Full of Books came up with a playlist, too. You should compare and contrast.
ReplyDeleteI will have to. Thanks, I don't think I know this song and it doesn't sound halloween-y, so double thanks for the recommendation, Deb.
DeleteNice! I also thought of:
ReplyDeleteThere's a Ghost in My House
Werewolves of London
Monster Mash
But there's SO many spooky songs out there - you picked some really good ones. [grin]
How could I forget "There's a Ghost in My House"? And the others sound great, too. Maybe enough for this year but there will always be another Halloween, I guess. Thanks, CK.
DeleteThis is such a fun playlist!
ReplyDeleteHere is our <a href="http://www.longandshortreviews.com/miscellaneous-musings/top-ten-tuesday-halloween-films-based-on-books/'>Top Ten Tuesday.</a>
Thanks, Astilbe. I'm glad you like it.
DeleteLove that you went with 13 this week! And so many fun songs...Highway to Hell and Thriller seem particularly apropos. :D
ReplyDeleteHaha, Lark. It came to me when I found more than 10 and was going to start cutting some out. But then I thought 13 is a lot better for this week. LOL
DeleteAaah this is fun Marianne and for a chance - I actually know all the songs! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteHave a fun Halloween.
Elza Reads
Hey, that's fantastic, Mareli and Elza. So you can start singing along. Happy Halloween.
DeleteInteresting twist! I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy. And the same to you.
Deletecan't beat The Phantom of the Opera for great spooky songs! My Halloween TTT
ReplyDeleteIt's a spooky play, right, Meez?
DeleteOh you have some great choices here! Adding a lot of these to my Halloween playlist so thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteAnd vice versa, Lindsey. If it wasn't for you, I would never have had the idea. I really stole it from you. Thanks.
DeleteHow interesting that there's nothing like Halloween in Germany. I know part of it has British-Celtic roots, but there are also the All Souls/All Saints connections..
ReplyDeleteWell, we do have the All Saints and All Souls celebrations but they are in church. So, on All Souls (or the weekend thereafter) the graves are blessed and most people go to the ones of their parents or grandparents. But we don't celebrate with anything like a Jack-o-Lantern.
DeleteI have written about our celebrations in November 2021 and October 2020. If you're interested, check out those posts.
Definitely! Thank you. I took two years of German in college and have been interested in its culture since.
DeleteWell, I try to inform my foreign friends about specific things in Germany. Since I lived abroad for half of my life, I might see it earlier than someone who always lived here. But you can always ask me when you have a question.
DeleteI love this list!

Thanks, Pam.
DeleteI don’t think my first comment went through. Let’s try again. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea. I might have to borrow it for next Halloween. Haha.
My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-halloween-things-ive-never-done/
Indeed, it didn't, Lydia. The internet likes to play with us from time to time. As I mentioned above, not my idea but I loved it. Looking forward to your post next year.
DeleteFantastic playlist. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Sara. I had a lot of fun putting it together and listening to all those songs on Youtube.
DeletePersonally, I don't think you're missing much with Halloween. It's definitely not my favorite holiday. I'm glad you had fun with the topic, though! I love the soundtrack for the Phantom of the Opera. There are so many great songs on there.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Susan

Haha, Susan. I like the trick or treating, children coming to the house, always nice. But we have that on other occasions, with the lanterns in November and for New Year, so I won't complain.
DeleteCool take on this week's freebie. We do celebrate Halloween in the UK, but it's not really my kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2022/10/25/top-ten-tuesday-391/
Thanks, Jo. I know most British people see it as American and therefore don't exactly embrace it. Though it originally comes from Ireland but I doubt that it was that commercial over there. LOL
DeleteThis post was so fun. Here is my post-https://paigesofnovels.wordpress.com/2022/10/26/top-ten-tuesday-halloween-costumes-for-characters/
ReplyDeleteThanks, Paige? Good that you gave me your link here because the one via Google doesn't work.
DeleteAnyway, I'm glad you liked it.
I love the way you manage to adapt the challenges.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anon. I love doing that.
DeleteI've heard all these songs! Cool list idea.
ReplyDeleteI thought so, too, AJ, but I cannot take any credit for the idea. Glad you like it, though.
