I like all the Barbara Kingsolver's books I've read. I like her style, the way her characters come alive. This one involves a lot of family history, the different people in the book all seem to have some links to each other, but there is also quite a bit about nature protection which I liked a lot.

I loved the first Barbara Kingsolver books I read, but I haven't read this one. The Appalachian setting intrigues me, though, so I'll have to try and check it out. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it when others also like my favourite authors and Barbara Kingsolver certainly belongs to them. And I'm happy if I can remind people about books I read ages ago when my blog wasn't visited as frequently. There are always books we can still discover that are a little older and not (yet) classics. So, I hope you enjoy this one, Lark.
DeleteI have 'The Lacuna' - as yet unread (typically). I was intrigued by location - both geographically and in time. One day I'll read it but it is HUGE [grin]
ReplyDeleteHaha, Kitten, I know what you mean. Yes, besides "The Poisonwood Bible", "The Lacuna" is probably one of my favourites by this great author.
DeleteI've yet to read any of hers, and probably won't ever, though I have heard good things.
ReplyDeleteMaybe one day. Have a look at the descriptions, I'm sure she also wrote a book for you, Sarah.
DeleteHave a good week.
Sounds like another great story by Kingsolver. Seems I have to put it on my list.
ReplyDeleteI have put all of her stories on my list but still haven't reached that goal. I just know that any of her novels are very deserving. Thanks, Lisbeth. Have a nice week.
